I apprenticed for many years in the marble studio Alessandro Ricci, Pietrasanta, Italy, where I learned the art of stone carving and developed my original work. I am also fortunate to have worked with sculptor and National Cathedral stone carver Malcolm Harlow in Berryville VA, learning tricks of his trade and the US tradition of limestone. During these years I have tried to master the traditional renaissance techniques for executing marble statuary as well as forging my own tools. Work includes sculpture, architectonic decoration, lettering, and funerary art. More recently, I began to explore Scandinavian granite and Swedish diabois. My studio work is now primarily marble, diabois, terracotta, and bronze.
