• My works are primarily in stone and bronze. My concern with form is deeply rooted in the figurative tradition and my studio work has evolved over time to encompass portraiture, narrative sculpture, anatomical studies as well as architectonic and funerary work. I am inspired by the natural virtuosity of the materials and processes inherent to stone carving and bronze casting. Working together with artisans and technicians is a collaboration that I highly value. It becomes an integral part of my creative process and is mirrored in the workshop activities that I design for young people. I strive to be simultaneously engaged as a practicing artist in teaching, learning and research. I live and work in Rome and travel frequently to conduct workshops and to explore areas where foundries and quarries are plentiful.
